In true Kay Shanee fashion, she has dropped another gem. It was funny to me because when I started reading I was thinking this is too mild, but it changed. This book had quite a few sharp curves with no warning signs. Quin and Harlowe definitely climbed a few mountains and dipped in a valley or two. They managed to withstand through it all and unpack a lot of baggage. The plot was well executed by Mrs. Shanee.Another fantastic read and I'm looking forward to new releases. I always ask in my review for a spin-off that's how much I love to read the Mrs. Shanee work. I would love to read more about Latrell, he seems to be an interesting soul. I want him to find love since he said in a few years, it would be on his radar. If you have not had the pleasure to take a journey in one of Mrs. Shanee masterpieces, you should. You will be highly pleased. This book drew me in from the first chapter and didn’t let me go until the last word. I loved everything about Quinn and Harlowe’s story and I do mean everything. What really stood out the most is that Quinn recognized he needed help unpacking all of his baggage. He wasn’t preempted by anyone. He realized he needed to get himself together in order to be more present in his relationship(s) so he did the work. In today’s society where a black male is actively seeking help from a therapist can lead to him getting negative pushback from those around him. When he uncovered all the reasons he acts and reacts the way he does, I think I liked him even more. Not only did I absolutely love that aspect but I LOVED Haevyn and her ability to read people’s energy even as a toddler. She gave Quinn’s mom her whole behind to kiss until she got herself together lol.Thank you for a beautiful story. I can’t wait for the next one.
